Hyundai in Canada
When Hyundai first came to Canada in 1983 most automobile manufacturers had abandoned the entry-level market in favour of high-end, high-priced vehicles, leaving a large void in the market. First-time car buyers like college students and young families wanted affordable, reliable cars that met their needs and budget. The Hyundai Pony filled this void and as result was the most successful launch of an import car in Canada. Hyundai furthered its success with the launch of the Stellar in 1985 and the Excel in 1986.Today Hyundai has a full-lineup of cars and SUVs to meet the needs of all Canadians.
Part of the Hyundai family since 1992, the Elantra has been one of Hyundai’s best selling vehicles from the very beginning. Hyundai continues to update the Elantra so it has the newest tech and safety features, but the Elantra remains a small, fuel efficient reliable car. No wonder it was in the running for Motor Trend’s 2017 Car of the Year.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is a real deal SUV - spacious, capable, feature-packed, and ready to take on just about anything. With a third row of seats you can take the kids, grandpa and grandma, along with a couple of cousins and still have room for the supplies you need on your weekend getaway. You can also drive with confidence when you’re behind the wheel of a Santa Fe - it was named as a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

As Car and Driver describes it, “Named after an American desert town, styled in Germany, and built in South Korea, the Tucson is a globe-trotting go-getter.” First introduced in 2004, Hyundai has continued to update the Tucson, ensuring it is among the most feature-filled, safest SUVs available.
